Volunteer Guidelines
All volunteers must:

  • Have a criminal reference check prior to volunteering
  • Stay with the group at all times
  • Sign up before the date of field trip
  • Bring their own lunch, similar to what the children will be eating

Contract Length: 1-2 years
Eligible Candidates: ECE teachers
Student level: preschool, kindergarten, and primary school ages
Job Benefits Pay: Very competitive monthly salary!
Teaching Experience: No experience required!
Accommodation Type: Roundtrip airfare, apartment housing
Vacations/ sick days: Paid legal holidays and 5 sick days
Training: Provided
Airport Pickup: Provided
Other Allowances: $5000RMB/ monthly allowance aside from monthly salary.

Hours: Must available to work between the hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm
Location: 131 John Button Blvd, Markham L3R 9C2

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all programs provide quality care, service and support to the participants and their families.
  • Understands and complies with provincial, municipal regulations.
  • Plans and implements a consistent curriculum based on How Does learning happen and the Montessori approach
  • Completes required documentation of children’s development and interactions. Attends required curriculum training and all other relevant professional development opportunities necessary for the position.
  • Seeks opportunities to deepen connections and increase engagement of parents and children in care..
  • Adheres to work schedule to ensure program stays within ratio and provides required adequate notice to supervisor regarding unexpected scheduling changes.
  • Understands the legal responsibilities and moral imperative to report suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services.
  • Understands the importance of the volunteer staff partnership and integrates the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealings with members, volunteers, donors and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education diploma or equivalent training
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with young children
  • Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity.Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, ability to work split shifts, early morning and mid-late afternoons, and evenings
  • A capacity to work within a team and be part of a large multi-service, charitable Association
  • Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping
  • Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold
  • All staff working with children are required under the Child Care and Early Year’s Act to have a valid standard first aid certification including infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) prior to the first day of work
  • Up-to-date immunization record (plus 2 step TB test)
  • Clear Police Reference Check

Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of children
  • Guiding and caring for children age 2 1/2 – 6 years old.
  • Fostering children’s learning and development of children’s positive self-concept
  • Ensuring a healthy and safe environment for children
  • Maintaining effective and cooperative team work and communication
  • Maintaining positive and supportive relationships with parents and families
  • Housekeeping duties

Qualifications

  • Valid Early Childhood Educator Certification
  • First Aid training and current certification
  • Minimum 1 year child care experience working with a variety of cultures and family dynamics in a inclusive child care setting
  • Experience working a licensed child care setting
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including oral and written communication
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of stages of children’s development and age appropriate programming
  • Clear criminal record search and immunization record
  • 2 step TB test

Position Type: Full time, permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday, shifts vary between 7:00am -6:00pm

We are looking for a Montessori teacher that has AMI or MACTE approved certificate. Great opportunity in a very nice school, great welcoming staffs. Staffs will be offered insurance benefits after 6 months of employment.

Requirements:

  • Accredited Montessori Teacher with a MACTE or AMI approved Montessori Diploma
  • Must have flexible working hours from the hours of (9am-6pm)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Effective classroom management skills, positive attitude, enthusiastic and loves to work with children
  • Have experience, or open to assist children with toileting/ potty training.
